Starting off the New Year right-

Hello all,

So, many have been emailing and asking me: "Hey, what's going on with you?"

First, let me dispell some rumors:

1) I have not moved out of the country.
2) I have not taken a vow of silence.
3) And I have not been abducted by aliens (thanks Marissa for your bit of humor)

But, now for some truths:

2011 was not the best of years for me, my family or my writing. I will confirm that I did lose my husband in a car accident and I have moved from California to be closer to my family for my son's sake.

In essence, the struggles of 2011 left me a different person: one jaded, confused, hurt, and struggling.

Over the past several months I've tried to force myself, in vain, to battle my personal demons and turn back to a place that I've called home: writing.

As many of you know, 'Full Moon' is the last in Lacey's story and it's been the hardest for me, thus far, to put to paper. Not only am I battling "the block", but it's the ending of an era for me. It's the ending of characters that have gotten me through some really tough times in the past few years and, honestly, I'm sad to see them go.

So, I've taken it on slowly: too slowly. I've lingered on plot twists and turns. I've lingered and agonized over characters. I've battled the death of a few beloved characters and contemplated witchcraft resurrection. (Which, I haven't completely veto'd at this point).

I know some have worried that 'Full Moon' wouldn't be released. However, I assure you that I am working on it and my original plan of a spin off is still in the works.

I greatly appreciate all of you that have stuck by me through this process. I have taken down my primary website for now and my primary email address has changed. I will continue to use this blog to post tidbits and updates. If you are interested in contacting me, please use: Jordan_Deen@yahoo.com.

I will be organizing a 'relaunch' in order to properly celebrate "Half Moon" and ring in the new year right. If you are interested in being a part (or help plan) this yet to be organized event, please email me.

Again, I truly thank all of you for standing by me. I wish all of you Happy New Year and hope this year brings amazing things for you and me both.

Much love,

Jordan~

Halloween, Paranormal Activity and whatnot...

SO... my best friend talked me into a few things, (usually it is the other way around, but this time I caved. Must be my lack of chocolate yesterday). Anyhoo- she talked me into the following:

1) Going to not one, not two, but THREE haunted houses. The first: a chain-link maze, complete with strobe lights, men dressed in black with black masks that were a little too grabby, freaky and blocky for my liking. The second: one that included a very creepy, LARGE man in a red cape and whited out eyes. Yeah! HELLO! Ok, so then, there were people cutting up people, etc. More strobes, and guess what? Not only me- but my friends 16 year old son got hit by various things in the place. First, I got hit with swinging spikes that fell from this overhang (no they were NOT soft, woke up with a black eye today) and her son got smacked in the face by an overzealous guy with long rubber fingers... (I wonder if he's got a black eye, but considering we didn't get home til 2am, I doubt he's up.)

The third: well... it was creepy in it's own right. It was at a persons house, but not the normal house house. It's in a secluded part of the hills by my home with a one way dirt road that is partially washed out. Actually, getting to the place was the scariest part of it all!!

The other thing she talked me into was going to see Paranormal Activity on the late showing. The theater was PACKED last night. The patrons were more entertaining than the movie itself. The first hour and twenty minutes went on and on and on and had very few moments that were actually scary. HOWEVER, the last ten minutes were worth every minute of the previous hour and twnenty minutes.

And in the words of the guy sitting behind us- "F*ck that sh*t, I'm going to church on Sunday." Yes, he actually said that, and the entire theater laughed at him. HOWEVER, I completely agreed with him. Although the movie was totally fake, there is one point in the movie that really makes you think of your life as a whole. At least watch the last half hour of the movie- you will get the whole point of the movie if you do.

I hope everyone has a safe, happy, candy-filled, Halloween.

A day of relaxing....

So, I'm sitting at beautiful Dumont Dunes (right outside of Baker, California) watching the wind blowing by. And you know what? This is heaven on earth. No work tomorrow, no work today. It's a short week coming up. So thankful. So what is on the movies list for today?

1) Whatever it takes- Shane West! CAN YOU SAY YUMMY?
2) Cinderella Story (Chad Michael Murphy... yum)
3) Sixteen Candles (Jake Ryan... need I say more?)
4) Ten things I hate about you- (More yumminess)
5) Twilight (New moon in less than a month!)

And I must say, just watched hottie Rob Pattinson in the haunted airman... and... yawn. Was so not impressed.

Off to watch #3. Jakie baby and Long Duck Dong. Heck yeah.
